Here’s everything you need to know to participate in this event. Please read everything thoroughly, and email, text, or call if you have any questions. We are working in a sensitive habitat / environment, so permission to do this relies heavily on our being good guests! You can also download these rules as a PDF: Canopy Artists. Participating artists will receive a $50 gift certificate to Maker’s Apron’s Arts and Crafts Thrift Store as a thank you gift. … That will buy a LOT in our shop! ;-)

You’re social enough for me.The Big Idea / Visual Direction
My vision is a constrained collaboration where each artist has their own circle, but we photograph the whole thing from the Skywalk as one giant installation. You can make something abstract, figurative, narrative, on a theme or commentary on waste, weird, lovely … whatever. You can make any kind of design you like, but keep in mind:The background / ground is a dark gray paved trail. Consider your contrast.
Stay in your circle. So it looks sharp in the photo please.
Materials
Yes Plants and plant derivatives! You can use anything that is compostable plant matter. This includes paper, as long as it’s paper you’d want in your compost. Except …
No Invasive Species! Please no ivy, blackberries, pampas grass, or generally anything that’s busy puffing out seeds.
Pack out what we Pack In! After we take photos and do a bit of schmoozing, we will need to clean up and leave no trace of our presence in the beautiful park. Please consider carefully how your materials might scatter.
Plain Water may be used as a fixative, but no glues, synthetic dyes/pigment, or any kind of paints.
Clean Up Crew will have brooms and bags, and will be looking for volunteers.
