Creative Reuse Workshops for Elementary School Students

How it Works

  • Fill in the Schedule Request, and our scheduler will get in touch.

  • Our artist instructor will come to your classroom with all the materials and tools for up to 20 students to make their own creative reuse project to keep. The cost is $200 per one hour class.*

  • Classes take about one hour, then there are instructional videos on our website in case some folks need a little longer to finish a project on their own time.

Bookmaking

Your Mini Makers will learn to see everyday objects differently, then construct and decorate their own journal using recycled and donated materials. Great for younger students still developing fine motor skills.

Magpie Mobiles

Creating these beautiful upcycled sun-catchers gives students a hands-on feel for the mechanical principles of balance and leverage. This medium difficulty project is a fun way to get lots of decorations for your classroom or school garden!

Retro Rubber Band Racers

In our most advanced lesson, students will learn about the difference between “kinetic” and “potential” energy as they engineer their own rubber band powered car with CD wheels.

All projects are made with reclaimed, upcycled, and donated materials!

* Each workshop costs $200 for up to 20 students, then you can add up to 10 more makers for $10 each up to 30 kids total / $300.
Schools outside Arcata, Eureka, Fortuna and McKinleyville will need to pay an additional $20 per class travel fee which goes directly to the instructor.

Teachers or aids must provide in classroom behavioral support during workshops.
